A source at the church service narrated that the Governor was given an unpleasant reception by the congregation that was apparently unhappy with his speech and some of his Government polices.
The eye witness account said that no sooner the Governor mounted the podium to address the Congregation that he was greeted with very unpleasant and unpalatable response.

The source accounted that every of the Governor’s speech was returned with boo from his audience who kept urging him to pay workers salaries, pension arrears, call off the ongoing state Judiciary Staff workers and Imo State university, Owerri, Academic Staff Union industrial actions.

But in response, the state Government through the special Adviser to the Governor on political matters, Prof Nnamdi Obiaraeri described the claim as false and the figment of the imagination of the paddlers.
Obiaraeri, a professor of law refuted the claims by saying that on no moment during the Governor’s speech at the church service was he booed, as he was greeted with applauses. The Governor’s aide said that his principal held his audience spell bond with his oratory prowess, wisdom driven assertions and delivered as he has always done.

Prof Obiaraeri who debunked the allegation in his official social media account asserted that the Governor couldn’t have been booed for there was no reason for that, as a church service couldn’t have been a political rally ground.
