The operatives of Imo State Police Command, Monday, in Owerri, the state capital nabbed 17 persons who were commemorating the May 30, 1967, Republic of Biafra Declaration by Late warlord and Igbo leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu.

Briefing newsmen, the Police Public Relations officer, PPRO, in the state, Mr. Andrew Enwerem said that the pro-Biafra Republic agitators were arrested at Okigwe/Tetlow Road in Owerri with Biafran insignias.
The police spokesperson informed that other Biafran insignias such as flags, Banners were recovered from the Biafran faithful.

Mr. Enwerem averred that the Biafra Republic agitators were gathering unlawfully and their meeting was tantamount to breaching public peace and causing disorder in the society .
He said investigations were on with the view of charging them to court.

While the police spokesperson was busy addressing newsmen, the agitators were busy singing Biafran songs in solidarity, even as they kept saying that it is Biafra Republic or nothing.
