Human right activist and one time Minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili; accomplished writer and activist, Chimamanda Adiche alongside other Igbo women who have made great achievements in various works of life are in line to be honoured at the first edition of International Igbo Women Awards, taking place in October 2016.
The awards which was set up to recognize and celebrate Igbo women who have continued to achieve and break stereotypes in their different fields of expertise is being organised by Cultural Empowerment Support, a company whose main objective is to empower people through culture promotion.
The organization on the official website of the awards, described Igbo women as those known for their strength and resilience, who have continued to excel in all areas of life.

The event has been designed as a two day affair, featuring a ‘Domestic Violence Conference’ on October 7, while October 8 will be mark the Award Gala Dinner and Cultural Night.
Accomplished Igbo women from around the world will be honoured in 12 different categories at the event taking place at The Dream Centre, Town Hall Approach London N15 4RY.
