Pensioners in the State would soon have a cause to smile and enjoy the proceed of their long years of Service to fatherland as Gov. Rochas Okorocha has disclosed that his administration has set aside the whooping sum of 12.9 billion to offset all arrears of pension owed them.
Similarly, the states helmsman added that soon about 3000 graduates of the state origin would be employed in the state civil service as part of measures to give teeth to his second term mantra of job creation in the state.

Meanwhile, the Archbishop of Orlu Anglican Communion, the Most Rev B.C.I Okoro has lauded the governor for taking the bold step to pay the pension arrears owed senior citizens of the state.
Gov. Okorocha who made this disclosure in Owerri during a press briefing stated that his administration decided to set aside the whooping amount to settle the outstanding arrears to make life more meaningful for the state pensioners for serving the state dutifully and faithfully for the greater part of their life.

He stressed that in the Spirit of Continuity and actualization of his second mantra of job creation more than 3,000 graduates of the state with requisite computer literacy would be employed into the state civil service to inject fresh blood into the service for improved productivity and effective service delivery.
Continuing, the governor stated that work is progressing at the cargo warehouse at Sam Mbakwe Airport through the instrumentality of his government even as he posited that when completed the President Mohamadu Buhari would come to the state to commission it.

Meanwhile, the bishop of Orlu Diocese Anglican Communion, the Most Rev. B.C.I Okoro, has praised the State Governor, Owelle Okorocha for announcing plan to settle the entire arrears of pensions of retired workers of the state, saying the move would go a long way in alleviating their sufferings and misery.
The Anglican Cleric maintained that the pronouncement has again shown the government as one with human face, adding that Gov. Okorocha deserves commendation for remembering to pay the retired workers even as he stated that the payment would have tremendous solutary effect on the state economy.
