Imo State based Comedians will be going head to head with their Bloggers counterparts in the opening game of the first edition of the Imo Entertainers Fotball Competition which will be kicking off on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Imo City School Football field, Wetheral Road Owerri.
The football match which is part of the activities to unify entertainers in Imo State is powered by Hon. Iruno Chukwunonye, the SA on Entertainment to Governor Rochas Okorocha, will see guilds in Imo State Artistes League clashing in a football tournament of 12 teams of four groups.
Speaking at the draw which was held at the Nze Dan Orji Bongo Center on Monday, October 24, 2016, Hon. Iruno Chukwunonye who is also the chairman of Imo Based Artistes League urged Imo based entertainers to use the platform the tournament will be offering to get to know each other more and also ensure that the unity in the association does not die.
“Even when it is a competition, it will be a friendly thing”, Hon Iruno said, adding that he does not only plan on keeping the entertainers busy with shows, but the football competition will also ensure that they are physically fit, which is important for every human being.
“We are always open to new ideas and anything that will see to the actualization of our dreams for Imo artistes. We will do anything possible to ensure that we not only achieve a unified entertainment sector, but one that will have different guilds working together for the greater good of the entire industry”
