Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has emphasized the resolve of Rescue Mission Government led by Owelle Rochas Okorocha to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the state achieves the needed development and sustainable growth through agriculture.
Disclosing this during a courtesy visit paid to him in the office by group under the aegis of Marketing Development in Niger Delta led by Mr Tunde Derende , the Deputy Governor who represented the Governor stressed the need to invest more in agriculture, stating that it is in line with diversification of the economy.
Commending the group for thinking in government desire of investing in agriculture and agribusiness, he called on them to ensure they skillfully train Imolites, especially youths in the field of agricultural produce.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the group, Mr Tunde Oderende said that they are in Imo State to partner with the government on agriculture and agribusiness in line with the agenda of the Rescue Mission and the Federal Government.
He, however hinted that their major area of training will focus on agricultural produce, such as fishery, piggery among others that are commercially viable with a view to empowering the youth and other strata of the populace in Imo State.
