Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has challenged teachers to up their responsibility of ensuring that every child gets a sound academic foundation at the elementary stage, describing it as strategic to the intellectual development of the child.
 
Disclosing to the teachers and some of the community leaders who had come to welcome him the reason for his visit to Achi Primary School in Achi-Ezi-Mbieri in Mbaitoli local government of Imo State last Monday, Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere said his visit was in line with education policy of Owelle Rochas Okorocha led Rescue Mission Administration not only to offer free and qualitative education but to also mentor the children with a view to helping them develop good self-esteem.

Commending the teachers for their efforts in developing Imo child, he charged them to do more, stressing that the future of the State and the nation in general is in their hands. His word; there is need to ensure the children have solid foundation, which remains a catalyst that will spur them into discovering their potentials in time. While I commend you, I also want you to go the extra mile to deliver on this patriotic goal because your job is very strategic to what becomes of our State and the nation at large tomorrow.”
 
Interacting with the pupils of Achi Mbieri primary School, Prince Madumere advised them to always pay attention to what their teachers teach them in class and be hard working by doing their assignments and home work. He reminded them that without education, it will be difficult for them to succeed and take their rightful place in the society as leaders of tomorrow.
 
While requesting from the children what to do in appreciation of the effort of Owelle Rochas Okorocha led Government in making free education free, in an interactive session, Chikamso Delight in her innocence said: “we should be obedient to our parents, we should obey our teachers and read our books. We are supposed to read our books and pray all the time.” With that tiny voice speaking as though it was a rehearsed rhyme caused everyone burst into laughter spontaneously.
 
Prince Madumere, who was accompanied by the member of Imo State House of Assembly representing Mbaitoli State Constituency, Hon. Ifeanyi Nnataraonye and other government functionaries,  recalled that he had visited the school and was excited the way the children had embraced him. He recalled that it was one Bright Lucky who requested a gift of band from him and he promised to procure one. On that note, Prince Madumere under his Foundation called, Peze Foundation donated two sets of band, which he presented one to the teachers and the pupils of Achi Mbieri Primary School.
 
In the same vein, he also visited another school, Achi Community Primary School, which happens to be his alma mater. In appreciation of their unbeaten record of 100 percent excellent results in both First School Leaving Certificate and Common Entrance Examinations for almost five years running, he donated a set of band and other accessories to the school.
 
In their responses, the Head Teacher of Achi Mbieri Primary School, Mrs. Opara Martina with her counterpart from Achi Mbieri Community Primary School, Mrs. Grace Ejimadu speaking differently expressed their gratitude to the number two citizen of Imo State while promising to double their effort to ensure they prepare the pupils under their care to be envy of their peers.
