Imolites will surely hate Gov. Rochas Okorocha not for the total ban on keke, but for bringing taxis who are now charging more.
Opinion poll around their metropolis has it that most taxis, especially the privately owned ones are now forcing commuters to pay N100 per drop.
One of the taxi drivers we queried said, “people should be grateful we are here to rescue an ugly situation created by the governor. They should also know that the fuel consumption of Keke and a car are never the same. Because the car consumes more, it has to charge more”
The driver also forgot that while they can carry six passengers, Keke can only carry 4.
Another privately owned cab driver who was charging N100 from Christiana Hospital Junction Egbu, to Wetheral road, made the same fuel consumption excuse and it is pathetic to note that some others are holding unto the temporary fuel scarcity which recently occurred nationwide.
Meanwhile, the total ban on Keke in Owerri Metropolis has been lifted as Keke could still be seen plying to junctions that are not too far from the town.
Along Egbu road, they can now reach Relief Market Junction, while it is also same in some other areas in Owerri.
