The popular old stadium shopping plaza along Tetlow Road in Owerri, Imo State is presently on fire.
The cause of the fire is not yet know and people are presently fighting to get their goods to safety.
The plaza is the major computer village in Imo State, housing dealers of computers and its accessories.
The fire outbreak will be the fourth major one in Owerri alone, in less than 14 days with popular eatery, Ibari Ogwa being the first.
A Filling Station along Egbu road caught fire the same day, while the deputy Governor’s house followed.
Previously, fire outbreak due to collision between a tanker and a bus claimed more than 10 lives, while few days after, about three lost their lives in a gas explosion which occurred in a filling station along Okigwe road.
There’s need for the fire service in the state to be at alert these days as the weather is extremely dry and anything could start fire.
