Darling FM Owerri presenter Nonsonkwa has hit back at Chinedu Hardy Nwadike, calling the blogger an “accidental discharge” and someone who came into the entertainment industry by chance.
Following statement by Hardy who took a swipe on OAPs in Imo state, calling on them to package more in their appearances, Nonsokwa got furious, responding to the Hardy by saying; “I read with dismay what one Hardy wrote about OAPs and I laugh and I wonder who the hell the guy is in the show biz industry. It’s unfortunate that a common Blogger could insult a profession as old as Radio Broadcasting”
Aside calling Hardy a ‘Common Blogger’, Nonsokwa also said that Hardy is one of those who believe that dressing makes a mock.
“Hardy no doubt is one of those who came into the show Biz by accident and who believe that dressing makes the mock. Imo OAPs are the most decent Radio broadcasters in Nigeria”
“Imo has the most intelligent, smart, creative and dynamic OAPs in Nigeria. I wonder what the Hardy of a guy know about packaging. Does packaging to him mean dressing well only? This is absolutely shallow and naïve”, he said.
He however defended his colleagues caught in the act of poor appearance by saying that only those into movies tend to dress well, warning Hardy to know that an attack on OAPs is like lapping a lion,
He then returned the jibe by asking if Hardy thinks packaging for OAP’s is about wearing suits like bank workers.
“Because of this profession I have travelled abroad to present programs in Igbo language and returned home with accolades, so what kind of packaging is the guy talking about?
Does Hardy think that packaging is wearing suits like bank workers? Since he is a blogger he should package himself by wearing vests with laptop logo. That’s packaging”
“
Part of what Hardy said, reads; “I often hide my face when I hear some people I meet are OAPs. They might have the swagger on radio but when you meet them, you don’t just feel that aura of someone you listen to over the radio”
“The packaging is just too poor and some of them don’t even dress 30% of the way someone in showbiz should. They just appear as petty traders because they think people won’t recognize them”
“I have seen fans become disappointed because of this and it is doing more harm than good to young people joining the industry as well as the old timers who know the in and out of their onion”
