The member representing Oguta State constituency in Imo House of Assembly and DG Ugwumba Worldwide, Hon Henry Ezediaro has advanced reasons why 20 serving legislators unanimously endorsed the Uche Nwosu , son in-law to Governor Rochas Okorocha for the 2019 governorship.
Ezediaro stated that their reason is mainly to maintain the legacies of Governor Okorocha and ensure continuity of the laudable programmes on ground in the state.
“Uche Nwosu was the pioneer candidate of APC in 2014; the party endorsed him to run for governor, he has not changed since then.
“When Governor Okorocha came back after he ran for President, APC leaders came together to say let’s give the ticket to Okorocha , the young man was loyal and said OK, what the young man did, son in-law or no son in-law , he would have said no ,at worst Okorocha will take back his daughter, what if he divorce his wife tomorrow, will that now qualify him to run for election?”, he said.
According to Henry Ezediaro, the twenty Imo lawmakers who endorsed Governor Rochas Okorocha’s son-in-law, Uche Nwosu,for governor are, the Speaker, Acho Ihim (Okigwe), his deputy,Ugonna Ozuruigbo (Nwangele), Lugard Osuji (Owerri Municipal),Chukwuemeka Lyord (Owerri North), Nkenna Nzeruo (Oru East), Innocent Egwim (Ideato North), Obinna Egu (Ngor Okpala) and Ngozi Obiefule (Isu).
Others are, Uju Onwudiwe (Njaba),Uche Ejiogu (Ihitte Uboma),Victor Onyewuchi (Owerri West),Uche Agabige (Orsu), Emma Orie(Ohaji/Egbema), Ikechukwu Amuka (Ideato South), Lawman Duruji (Ehime Mbano), Marcel Odunze(Orlu), Chinedu Offor (Onuimo), Chika Madumere (Nkwerre) and Kennedy Ibe (Obowo).
It has been observed that out of the 21 Imo House of Assembly members who have endorsed Nwosu, only Speaker Acho Ihim, the Deputy Speaker Ugonna Ozuruigbo and Hon Ezediaro are courageous and bold enough to defend the endorsement openly.
