There is mixed feeling for the next political ambition of Imo State Governor Owelle Rochas Okorochas, as two time Senator, Hope Uzodimma officially declared for the All Progressive Congress, APC ahead of 2019 general election.
In the ceremony that marked what seems to be the biggest political migration in Imo State this year, the National chairman of APC, Chief John Oyegun handed over the APC flag to Imo West Senator at Party’s National head office, Abuja, officially welcoming the Imo State political gladiator to the party.
Senator Uzodimma who contested his first and second term in the National Assembly under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will be looking at winning the third time under his new party APC.
The influential politician who represents Orlu Zone in the red Chambers will be filling up against the incumbent governor of Imo State Owelle Rochas Okorocha who had earlier declared to run for the same seat.
Should both men be running for the same seat, many will see it as a plot by powers from above to knock out Gov. Okorocha who is the chairman of APC Governors Forum.
The appointment of Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu as the Planning Committee Secretary for the APC National Congress is also seen as a step ahead in that plot as some local tabloids in Imo State had already reported that governor Okorocha is battling to have good influence on the congress delegate list.
www.otowngist.com have gathered that some followers of Gov. Okorocha in Imo APC are jubilating as Senator, Sen. Hope Uzodimma joins the party, while another section are saying that the arrival of the Senator was negotiated from the top without the influence of Imo State Governor.
