After years of abandonment and dilapidation, the Ulakwo primary health care centre has bounced back to life as the lawmaker representing Owerri Federal Constituency has renovated and equipped it.

The facility which is the only government presence in the community has been abandoned since this administration came to power with rodents, reptiles and other animals battling for space with workers.

Commissioning the beautifully renovated edifice last Sunday the lawmaker stated he took the decision to restore life to the facility the day he flagged off a free medical treatment for Owerri North LGA.

Hon Onyewuchi disclosed that he was terribly shocked by the level of rot and dilapidation of the facility and there and then took the decision to renovate it.

He stated that his passion to continue serve his people was the motivation behind the decision assuring the community that he would never relent in working for their welfare and well being as long as he holds their mandate.

The lawmaker flayed the state government for abandoning its core responsibilities to those who voted it into power pointing that the government lacks human face.

He urged them to go and register in the ongoing voters registration and get their Permanent Voter Card PVCs preparatory to voting out the bad government in the State.

Also speaking, the PDP Chairman for Obibi, Agbala and Ulakwo,OAU,ward Chief Okey Njoku lauded the lawmaker for investing in health which he noted is a critical sector of the economy adding that the project would benefit the masses.

In his own speech a party leader in the ward Mr Jezrel Eke disclosed that the lawmaker has touched virtually every nook and cranny of Ulakwo with project and listed the projects to include donation of transformer to Umuovum, construction of modern and well equipped civic centre at Egbelu Obube as well as the health centre.

He described him as the best thing that has happened to Owerri Federal Constituency in legislative representation even as solicited support for his senatorial aspiration.

Earlier in her address, the nursing officer in charge of centre Mrs Claribel Ugochi Orji described the renovation as a dream come true pointing out that Hon Onyewuchi stepped in when they had almost concluded that the health centre has been forgotten.

According to her when the lawmaker promised to bring back life to the facility they initially thought it was one of those political promises but were compelled to think otherwise when work started in earnest.

She described him as a rare politician who can be trusted with the mandate of the people stressing that with leaders like him the country would grow and develop.
