A body under the aegis of Association of Disabled Women, ADW, popularly known as Special Citizens/Disabled Sports Club, DSC, Imo state, have intensified support for Hon. Uche Nwosu’s 2019 Imo guber ambition.
The Special Citizens who spoke to our reporter at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, Thursday, through Edith Ukaegbu and Immaculata Achunihu, President and Secretary of ADW, maintained that Special Citizens of Imo State are solidly behind Nwosu to be elected governor of Imo state come 2019.
According to them, “we are not deterred by the social media unconstructive criticism of our vehicles which have Uche Nwosu’s campaign stickers. We love him, not because he is our Patron, but has been supporting us. We are strong APC members and nothing will stop us from voting Nwosu as governor. We are ready to follow him anywhere he goes. Members of the public should discard this false information against us. Though we have the stickers on our private and commercial vehicles”.
While vowing that the over 800,000 Special Citizens have concluded plans to only support Hon Uche Nwosu governorship bid, the President General, Bright Uzoma, expressed the hope that Special Citizens will be carried along when he becomes governor.
Uzoma who remarked that ” it is not the usual “Ayeyaa and Chaiyaa”, but APC governorship hopeful will remember us having brought many of us from the pit of poverty, so we believe firmly that many of us will be given political appointment. No one can stop us from working with Ugwumba Uche Nwosu because we love him. He is the only man who sees us as Special Citizens “.
He added that Uche Nwosu has financially empowered all Special Citizens across the 27 Local Government Areas of Imo State, noting that the said stickers on their vehicles are done to show solidarity and support to him.
