Imo State Deputy Chief Of Staff Operations, and the Chairman, Bureau for Lands, Survey, Housing and Urban Planning, Hon Engr. Uju Kingsley Chima has found favour in the sight of his Federal Constituents, who unanimously presented and endorsed him for the Federal seat come 2019.
This show of love by the Federal Constituency, comprising Oguta, Ohaji/Egbema and Oru West indigenes played out yesterday at the Imo International Convention Centre, IICC, before the State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, members of the State House of Assembly, Government appointees, and the enlarged faithful of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Ascertaining the level of acceptance of various political aspirants under the APC, the Governor in a stakeholders meeting comprising the Executive and members of the party across the 27 Local Government Areas of the State had to conduct “A Voice Vote” which was expected to produce the “People’s choice candidates ” in different elective positions.
Interestingly, Kingsley Uju stole the entire show with an overwhelming ovation and “stand up “method, accompanied by, “Owelle, he is our desired candidate for Abuja”.
To his (Okorocha) greatest surprise, the mammoth crowd from Oguta, Ohaji/Egbema and Oru West, without any fear or equivocation endorsed Uju for the Green Chambers in the upcoming elections, adding that among other aspirants jostling for the same position, Kingsley Uju stands tall, tested, trusted, qualified to represent them.
The women further stated that what they need in the National Assembly by 2019 is a selfless leader who has impacted tremendously on peoples lives without any attachments, hence their resolve to support and ensure that Kingsley Uju wins for the continuation of the Rescue Mission good policies.
It was further learnt that through the love and concern unceasingly displayed by the DCOS in uplifting the standards of living of the three LGAs, there have been massive changes, in terms of youth restiveness, employment, rapid economic and infrastructural developments, among other good tidings.
However, the Governor after the thorough assessment and such confidence reposed on Uju Kingsley Chima, raised his hand which symbolizes his acceptance as portrayed by the masses.
Briefing Newsmen shortly after the endorsement, , Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima having expressed utmost satisfaction for the show of love exhibited by his constituents and supporters described his endorsement as a collective project, which calls for more hands.
“It is very pleasant and joyous for me, and with absolute respect to the entire people of Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru West Federal Constituency that I have declared to run for the Federal House of Representatives. I have told you in all my interviews that when the chips are down, you will hear Uju Kingsley Speak, and today, I have demonstrated it through the love and support from my people, and by the special Grace of God, that I will surely answer their call to represent them in Federal House Representatives come 2019”.
Meanwhile, he described the project as another call for service.
