The Imo State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt Hon Dr Acho Ihim should now rejoice as peace has finally been restored between him and the aggrieved members of the House who were battling him over the alleged removal of Hon Barr Dr Uche Oguwuike as Majority Leader and unilaterally imposing Hon Lugard Osuji who resigned this position few months ago.

Acho Ihim from all indication lost his friendship with this aggrieved group and was said to have incurred their wrath starting from Thursday when he made a pronouncement of bringing back Lugard Osuji who represents Owerri Municipal Council to take over from Uche Oguwuike, the Majority Leader and member representing Ikeduru Local Government Area.

The uproar that came up at Thursday sitting of the members led to a meeting by the aggrieved members and during their meeting, they raised eye brows on the removal of Oguwuike as Majority Leader. They finally resolved to show their grievances on the Speaker. A Press Statement was issued on this it was believed that the next sitting (Tuesday) will be very hot for the Speaker. God so kind the Governor received information about the impending danger and invited all the lawmakers for settlement. The governor made peace and advised that the APC lawmakers should tolerate one another, adding that a house divided among itself will never succeed.

Thereafter, the House members gathered at Mr Speaker’s lodge to embrace one another and to speak with one voice and forget their differences.

The following day, they departed for Abuja with Governor Rochas Okorocha. The Governor blasted those who have been causing confusion in the State House of Assembly and advised them to turn a new-leaf before it will be too late for them. He maintained that only those who are patient enough will receive the beautiful packages he is going to unfold very soon to Imolites.

It would be recalled that over 12 members of Imo House of Assembly members had insisted that Lugard Osuji cannot be their Majority Leader. This group wanted either Hon Obinna Egu who represents Ngor Okpala Local Government Area or Hon Chukwuemeka Lloyd who represents Owerri North LGA to be their Majority Leader. Political analysts are now seeing the removal of Uche Oguwuike as a Majority Leader as a calculated attempt to begin the impeachment process of Prince Eze Madumere as Deputy Governor of Imo State.

The Deputy Governor who is now locking Horns with his master, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, is now seen as anti rescue mission politician who is biting the finger that fed him.
