President Muhammadu Buhari, on Sunday, June 10, arrived Morocco from Abuja, Nigeria where he travelled on a two-day working visit.

The presidency had earlier announced that Buhari would be embarking on the trip to Morocco. Arriving at the country, photographs have shown King Mohammed VI holding a rousing ceremonial welcome for the Nigerian leader at the Mechouar of the royal palace of Rabat.

“An elaborate reception for President Muhammadu Buhari at the Royal Palace in Morocco, the event was aired live on eight TV channels in the North African country,” Bashir Ahmed, an aide to the Nigerian leader, said in a tweet.

The president’s senior special assistant on media and publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, in a statement in Abuja on Saturday, June 9, said the visit was at the invitation of King Mohammed VI of Morocco.
