The Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Kpotun Idris will be embarking on a two day visit to Owerri the capital city of Imo State according to a release by Imo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Andrew Enwerem.

According to the release, the IGP will be attending South-East Security Summit, which will also have other stakeholders in the security sector alongside dignitaries from the zone.

The event which has the theme ‘Community Policing: Rethinking National Security Framework For National Development’, will be taking place on July 5, 2018 at the Imo Trade and Investment Center,
New Owerri, by 10:00AM.

It will be chaired by former Commonwealth Secretary-General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, while
the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu will be Distinguished Guest of Honour. Guest Speakers at the event include Prof. Mohammad Auwal Umar and CP Emmanuel Ojukwu (rtd)

The release also called on Government Appointees, Traditional Rulers, Eminent Persons, Civil Society groups, the Media, Women Leaders, Youth Leaders and all stakeholders in security matters to attend the event en masse.
The event will be one of the most elaborate under the CP Dasuki D. Galadanchi after replacing CP Chris Ezike recently.
