Former Deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Emeka Ihedioha, yesterday picked nomination form to vie for the Imo gubernatorial election under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The Chief Press Secretary to Ihedioha, Chibuike Onyekwu told newsmen in Owerri that Ihedioha picked the form at the national secretariat of the PDP, in Abuja.
He said the journey to end hardship in Imo state has started.
However, Ihedioha is the first among the governorship aspirants in Imo state under PDP to pick nomination form.
According to his statement, “this is to inform you that His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, CON, has picked the official nomination form to contest the number one seat for Imo State 2019 governorship election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. He was recently received at the national secretariat by the national organising secretary of the party, Col. Austin Akobundo.
“My principal also reaffirmed his commitment towards a better and more organized Imo where rule of law will reign supreme, quality infrastructure provided, employment and sustainable empowerment given to the people.”
“He urged Imo masses to remain patient and that the days of bad leadership, recklessness and deceit are almost behind us.”
He went further to say that, his principal was accompanied by members of the National Assembly both past and present.
Among which are “Hon. Hon Ezenwa Francis Onyewuchi, Hon. Henry Nwawuba, Hon. Chudi Uwazurike, Hon. Eddy Mbadiwe, Hon. Gerald Irona, Chief Chinedu Chukwuonye, Hon. Chinemerem Madu, Barr. P.G.U. Madu.”
