Amuzi Progressive Union (Women Wing), in Ahiazu Mbaise L.G.A. of Imo State has conferred the Prestigious MATRON-GENERAL award on the immediate past Minister of State for Education, Prof (Noble Lady) Viola Adaku Onwuliri.

The event took place during the closing ceremony of their 2018 August Home and Abroad Women meeting at the Amuzi Central School hall, Amuzi, Ahiara.

Mrs Enefaa Otuibe, President of the APU Women Wing, in her speech at the occasion of the investiture described the award as the highest of the women wing which they unanimously nominated the former Minister of State for Education and Foreign Affairs, as the most deserving recipient based on her track records of humanitarian services, accomplishments and her integrity which she said is second to none a worthy daughter of Amuzi in whom they are well pleased.

Mrs. Otuibe while urging women all over the country to emulate Prof. Viola Onwuliri, thanked her for the enviable and enduring legacies which she has relentlessly bequeathed to them.

Responding, Prof. Noble (Lady) Viola Adaku Onwuliri, who was visibly elated with the Matron-General award conferred on her, thanked the Amuzi Women for finding her worthy of their highest award and assured them of her preparedness at all times to offer them her services and advice on how best to move the community and nation forward and insisted that the way Imo State is today is a proof that the widows who demonstrated against Rochas Okorocha in 2015, were right afterall. She went ahead to present gift items to widows from the ten villages that make up Amuzi community.

On hand to grace the occasion were the Imo State House of Assembly members representing Ahiazu and Ezinihitte Mbaise, LGA Ichie Ken Agbim and Engr. Bruno Ukoha, respectively, business magnate Engr. Lambic Okeahialam, Chief P. G.U. Madu, Chief Bona Ogu, a Governorship aspirant under APGA, Senator Bright Nwanne and Mrs Elizabeth Odoemena, PDP women leader for Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA, to mention but a few.
