A governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume has stated that he remains a card-carrying member of the APC.
Araraume disclosed this to DAILY POST on Tuesday, through the Director of Contact, and Mobilization of his campaign organization and a former Commissioner of Information in Imo state, Dr. Vitalis Ajumbe, against the backdrop of reports of him defecting to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Recall that Senator Araraume had been in a running battle with Governor Rochas Okorocha over the outcome of the APC congresses held in Imo state early this year and the latter’s insistence on installing his son in-law, Chief Uche Nwosu as governor come 2019.
The ex-PDP chieftain explained that he has no intention of dumping APC for the opposition PDP, saying he will soon make known his next step.
According to Ajumbe,”The truth is that Senator Ifeanyi Araraume has not made any statement. What probably people are reading is his body language”.
“Araraume is not somebody who would move to a political party and hide himself. He will make it open to everybody”.
” Let us wait in a matter of days, whether he is going to make pronouncement that he has joined APGA”.
“As far as I know, until he pronounces that he has moved to APGA, he is still a card-carrying member of APC,” he added.
