A governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Congress, APC, High Chief Engr. Chuks Ololo has restated why he withdrew his supporters from the APC governorship primary in Imo State

Ololo cited irregularities and non conformity to the rules of the primary which forced him not to allow his supporters to be exposed to danger during the exercise.

This was disclosed by Chief Ololo’s Spokesman, Mr.Emma Okala while briefing newsmen in Owerri.

Okala said the Omenenji campaign organisation, the political structure of Engr.Ololo wondered how their principal could have scored 6, 428 votes in a primary they never participated. He rejected the results which he described as mere allotment.

He said before the repeat guber primary of the APC took place on October 6, 2018, Engr Ololo’s had concluded arrangements to t fully take part in the exercise only to be taken aback by unwholesome practices that dominated the primary.

Okala said “The exercise was fraudulent. We were eager to participate in the primary because we believe in the APC.We had to withdraw when we noticed that there was violence in some areas and intimidation of our supporters.

“At this point, Chief Ololo who believes that his ambition is not worth the blood of any innocent person decided to withdraw his supporters

“The primary was not free and fair as people were coerced and forced to vote against their wish. There was violence and intimidation everywhere” he said

Flanked by Mr. Victor Nwankwo- Omenneji DG, Worldwide and Dr. Andy Odunka. DG, Omenneji Campaign Organization, Mr. Okala said the process fell short of expectations.

Reacting to reports that the APC may go into harmonization to appease all interests in the party, Mr. Okala said it is not in the place of Chief Ololo to choose who the governorship candidate of the APC will be in Imo State

” We cannot decide for the party, the party has the final say” he said
