The National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Party (APC) on Wednesday, failed to discuss the governorship primaries of Imo State.
Daily Nigerian Horn gathered that while Senator Hope Uzodinma and other governorship aspirants thought the comrade Adams Oshiomhole-led NWC would discuss the case of Imo State, they were disappointed over the outcome.
A reliable source who is also top member of the NWC (name withhold), told Daily Nigerian Horn, that the NWC had earlier promised to abide by the decision of the court.
“At this stage, the NWC being a law abiding entity, has promised not to go against the law, anyone who the Court ruled in his favour will have his name in.
“In our NWC meeting yesterday, the issue of Imo State was not discussed. Anyone claiming his name has been sent to INEC as candidate, is economical with the truth.
“The newspaper owners and journalists should please report nothing but the truth especially in sensitive matters such as this.
“It is obvious that the NWC would look into the issue of Imo state if need before the November 2, 2018 deadline.
Let it on record that NWC has not recognized anyone as the party’s flag bearer” the source stressed.
Meanwhile, the National leader of the party, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu has revealed that appeal committee set up by the party to look into grievances arising from the conduct of party’s primaries, performed its duties diligently.
Tinubu who disclosed this while briefing State House correspondent on Wednesday, added that the appeal Committee served as internal mechanism for conflict resolution.
