Imo State Commissioner for Transport Prince Lasbery Okaforanyanwu has described the chairman of the disbanded Imo All Progressives Congress, APC, primary election committee, Alhaji Ahmed Gulak as a serial liar who lacked the integrity and positive reputation to undertake such serious assignment.
Reacting to the controversy surrounding the Imo APC governorship candidate, Okaforanyanwu described the whole political imbroglio as an avoidable one which have put the part in an ugly spot and blamed Gulak who according to him decided and consciously took the part of dishonesty by breaching the public trust on him.
According to the APC strong stalwart, the political crime committed by Gulak against Imo State is so monumental that it should not be regarded as a trade mark of APC described Gulak as not a committed member of APC, rather a man who was sponsored by the rival PDP to destroy the unity in APC.
The commissioner noted that somebody like Gulak should be regarded as an enemy of the society and should be made to face the wrath of the law because according to him, politics does not mean impunity.
On the confusion that trailed the report of the disbanded committee, the commissioner said the Gulak Committee was constituted on trust but for reasons of selfishness and sinister plan to cause crisis, saying Gulak abandoned the National assignment and went ahead to make mockery of the image of APC which according to him was what is obtainable in other parties.
He went further: “On the purported primary election, Gulak never conducted any election. Rather, he decided to indulge in act with the intention to deceive the national chairman of APC and NWC by presenting to them, false information which runs contrary to the constitution of the party, Article 21 A(I,II,V)”.
“I am using this opportunity to call on the national chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to protect the public image of the party and save the party from political fraudsters like Ahmed Gulak.
“Infact, the person of Gulak Ahmed is not supposed to be walking the streets of Abuja as if nothing happened. He really committed a political heinous crime against APC and the society, with people like him, the fight against corruption spearheaded by APC-led federal government of Nigeria is being mocked,” he opined.
