The Imo State Police Command has arrested two persons in connection with the alleged killing of a woman, Emmanuela Anemele, from the Oguta Local Government Area of the state.

The state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi, told Southern City News that the suspects were arrested during an operation led by the Commander of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the state command, Mr Victor Geoffrey.

Galadanchi stated that the arrest of the suspects was the result of the resolve of the command to ensure that no crime perpetrator was allowed to walk free.

“It is important to note that on October 21, the woman, who hailed from Oguta LGA, was shot dead by unidentified hoodlums and carted away money and some other valuables.”

He added that investigation and confessional statements made by the suspects revealed that they were members of the Aceland Confraternity, which had been terrorising the locality.

Galadanchi said the suspects confessed that they masterminded the killing with another suspect, who came in from Anambra State, with a gun on the night the woman was murdered.

The commissioner added that the last suspect was at large, noting that efforts were on to arrest him and recover the gun.
