Imo State Governor, Rochas Anayo Okorocha has once again taken His Excellency Adams Oshiomhole, National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to cleaners describing him as architects of injustice in the party.
Okorocha stated this while addressing party faithfuls during the visit of the party’s National Reconciliation Committee led by the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje to the state at Imo International Convention Center, Owerri on Thursday.
The Imo governor also accused Oshiomhole of imposing Sen. Hope Uzodinma, as the State APC governorship candidate against the wishes of the people, stressing that he and other members of the party still remain in APC because of their love and support for President Muhammadu Buhari.
He also predicted that Uzodinma and his cohorts will dump APC if elected into power come 2019, adding that the best choice for governorship of the state remains Uche Nwosu who according to him enjoys the overwhelming support of the entire Imolites.
Okorocha equally admitted of running a family government in the state on the bases that the entire members of the party in the state is a family and will remain intact in for support for President Buhari in 2019 election.
“APC in Imo State is a family and what has joined us together is more than the party that brought us together. This is a family and we are commonly referred to as ‘Agburu Anyi’, a linage. We are not just a political party but a linage of a people who have suffered degradation, deprivation and even oppression in the past
“So what you see here is a family and whoever says we are running a family government is not telling lies. We run a family government in Imo State and everyone here is a member of a family.”
Okorocha continued “anyone in APC now is a person that has joined including the governorship candidate of APC now in the state as arranged by Oshiomhole and co. None of them was with us in the days of struggle.
If there is any injustice in Nigeria politics, the headquarters of that injustice is in Imo State.
But one thing that still kept the spirit up here is the spirit that President Muhammadu Buhari is still in the race. If all these people seated here are still talking about APC, the one man they are looking at President Muhammadu Buhari. And the reasons are not farfetched. Not because they have benefitted so much from President Muhammad Buhari but they don’t want to stop a journey which they started in 2015 for which people laughed at them.
“So our disappointments came from a man that I brought into the fold to become that National Chairman of APC. Our issue is not against the party or the National Working Committee, the issue we have is with a single person who is called Oshiomhole. And this is because Oshiomhole stole the mandate of the people and gave it away for just no course.
I also want to announce to you that we in APC and these people seated here are concerned because the candidate of their choice is not the person whose name was on the ballot.
“And I make bold to say that everywhere you go in Imo State, Uche Nwosu is the candidate.
“One thing you do not know is that this candidate you people have given ticket, they are in APC now because they cannot run election without dropping the name of the Commander in-Chief at any given time.
“But let me tell you, these people you have nominated today, and I prophesy to say this that in the next couple of months to come, they will dump APC.
“So my dear, we have done everything humanly possible in meeting to see how we can amend this ugly situation but it looks like the issue now has gone beyond ‘mekwantancy’ (unamendable). Okorocha said.
