Imo State governorship candidate of the Action Alliance, AA, Sir Leonard Okolienta has debunked the rumour going round that he has surrendered his candidacy to Ugwumba Uche Nwosu saying he still remains the AA guber candidate in next years election.

Briefing newsmen in Owerri, Okolienta, a native of Okporo Community in Orlu LGA, said at no time did anybody negotiate with him or gave him any money to surrender his ticket describing the rumour as wicked and mischievous.

While condemning the actions of the national leadership of the party in undermining his mandate Okolienta vowed to resist any attempt to deny him the chance to contest the 2019 Imo governorship election saying his mandate is not for sale.

While accusing Ugwumba Uche Nwosu of impersonation, he described the later’s actions as undemocratic saying Imo state is not for sale.

When Daily Nigerian Horn visited the Imo State Office of INEC, the Resident electoral Commissioners was said to be out but a source who pleaded anonymity confirmed that Ugwumba Uche Nwosu’s name was duly registered as AA guber candidate.

At the secretariat of Ugwumba Nwosu Campaign organization, Okigwe road, the DG Ugwumba Campaign organization, Chief Chidi Ibeh could not confirm or deny the information but opted to speak on the issue when appropriate.

Meanwhile, Daily Nigerian Horn observed that Campaign posters and billboards of Ugwumba Uche Nwosu have been changed from APC to AA.
