Still on the anti-party accusation leveled against the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha, a renowned political analyst and social activist in the state, Prof. Protus Nathan Uzoma has accused the governor of playing a script of deceit.

Speaking to Daily Nigerian Horn on the Telephone of Monday, the erudite professor said that Governor Okorocha has placed his political interest beyond his loyalty to his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to him, the Imo first citizen is not a good party man hence he does not care whoever is his party’s governorship candidate in the state, instead, he has allegedly given his full support to his son in-law, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu of the Action Alliance (AA).

“Okorocha has never being a party man. Okorocha has always pursued his interest and not the party’s interest. So his interest is making his son in-law the governor of Imo State.

“It doesn’t matter to him who is the flag bearer of APC. If any person tells you Okorocha is in APC; well you can say he is APC in the body and AA in the soul. So his treasure is in AA and where your treasure is, that is where your heart will be.” he said

Also speaking on the reason for his recent defection from United Progressives Party (UPP) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the former UPP chieftain said, “What really informed my decision is simple. I am of the opinion that PDP is the only strong opposition we have in Nigeria. Other political parties have not been able to show strength.

“You can see some of the political parties going into alliance with APC. UPP went into alliance with APC and I do not believe in that kind of administration. A political I am going into alliance with a party that has impoverished the people of Nigeria.
“So for me, support APC, I felt the devil you know is better than the angel you don’t know. So I decided to lean my support to PDP.

“If anybody is thinking that I joined PDP for selfish reason. That is not correct. I joined PDP because I have been in opposition and PDP is an opposition party. So joining PDP amounts to joining the opposition party.

On the chance of PDP winning 2019 general election, Uzoma opined that “the issue is this, people know quite well and quite sure that PDP is going to form the next government in Nigeria. They were there before and they will be there again.

“While they were there before, I wasn’t with them, and now they were able to reorganize themselves or put their house in order; they have learnt enough lessons, so I have decided to join them to contribute and advance the democratic process in the country.” he said.
