Kwara State Police Command, yesterday, arrested 14 persons for allegedly selling naira notes, contrary to Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) Act Sections 20 and 21, which make trading of currency a punishable offence.

Parading the suspects, the state’s Police Command spokesman, Deputy Superintendent Ajayi Okasanmi said the action stemmed from a directive from Police headquarters.

Okasanmi said unspecified number of new and old currencies of various denominations was recovered from those arrested.
