The Imo state Police Command on Tuesday, reminded the general public that the ban on sales, possessing or discharge of explosives of any kind is still in force.

This is contained in a press release issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikeokwu Godson Orlando.

“The unwholesome practice where people indulge in the use of fireworks such as knockout, bangers and other explosives does not only constitute threats of fire outbreak but could cause distraction and panic that may constitute threats to security thereby enable hoodlums perpetrate their criminal acts.

“Parents and guardians are by this press release advised to educate their children and wards on the ugly consequences of such acts especially during this yuletide and New Year period.

“Any person(s) found selling, possessing or discharging fireworks of any kind in the state will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.”
