The gradual withdrawal of erstwhile allies of Governor Rochas Okorocha from his political camp, otherwise, known as the Agburu is increasing daily with more notable pro Rescue Mission adherents calling it quits.

Since Chief Uche Nwosu, the favoured candidate of governor Okorocha failed to pick APC governorship ticket, some of his die-hard followers are thinking otherwise continuing giving the Rescue Mission support for the choice candidate of the governor in the AA where he drifted to for the race.

Trumpeta can authoritatively reveal that Rescue Mission top shots are denouncing the Agburu political family, to be part of a one united Imo State chapter of APC.

It would be recalled that before the party congress, Okorocha instituted schisms in the rank and file of the party by declaring that his followers are Agburu political family members. The implication of his action was that those who do not support his total desire to control the APC structure in the state were not part of this camp, thereby creating division in the party.

Barely a year after the pronounciation, Okorocha’s Agburu political family is gradually crumbling with those who played prominent roles in the past in the Rescue Mission pulling out to remain staunch members in the APC. Apart from jettisoning Nwosu’s ambition for Uzodinma, they are fully APC compliant against the AA, Okorocha’s followers chose to be since majority of them picked the party’s ticket in that platform.

Leading the pack of those who have severed relationship with Okorocha’s camp is the National Organizing Secretary of APC, Emma Ibediro. A former Commissioner in the cabinet of Okorocha who received tremendous backing of the governor for the position during the last national convention to elect party officials, Ibediro against expectation has joined the APC bandwagon in the state to draw support for the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Hope Uzodinma.

Ibediro’s rejection of Okorocha’s camp became manifest during the flag off of campaign for the APC governorship candidate in Imo State where the national officers landed in Owerri. Ibediro publicly shunned Nwosu to support Uzodinma even as the governor was absent at the campaign kick-off. Also, a video footage of a meeting where Ibediro admonished APC officials and members in his locality to remain steadfast in the party than join the Rescue Mission favoured AA.

Further signs that the National officer has disassociated himself from Okorocha was a meeting of critical stakeholders in Ounimo LGA where Ibediro hails from. At the meeting, the governor’s followers passed a resolution disassociating themselves from him over his recent attitude. The speakers at the event berated Ibediro for enjoying Okorocha’s goodwill, but has ended up not doing the wish of the governor now 2019 election is near.

Earlier report that the central figure in the administration of Okorocha, Prince Charles Amadi, otherwise known as Chalvon has dumped Rescue Mission has been confirmed if the words from the Ikeduru born politician is considered.

Speaking at the meeting in Owerri, Chief Charles Amadi advised party members to shun segregative tendencies of Agburu, Coalition and Camp Hope and work assiduously for the good of the party.

He maintained that he would support candidates who are in the party, provided they believe in the party and the ability of the APC to deliver them.
Chalvon’ s view is a strong indication he has cut off from the Agburu political brand.

Following Chalvon is a former commissioner in the cabinet who can best be described as the spokesman of the Okorocha group and media marketer of Uche Nwosu, Engr Obinna Nshirim. Nshrim’s regular talk shows only focused on massaging the ego of the governor and his son in-law before the bubble burst.
Nshirim as the latest Rescue Mission turn coat was at the meeting where leaders of the party stated that Okorocha has nothing to offer APC in the forthcoming election.
At the meeting too, Trumpeta learnt that former allies of the governor joined to chorus to state that said there was need for Imolites to know that Okorocha is no longer part of the new APC, as they informed that, he is poised to work for the failure of the party.

Hon. Ifeanyi Nnataraonye who spoke on behalf of candidates suggested that in order to show seriousness, all candidates should brand their vehicles with the face of APC guber candidate on all the posters, as he alleged that, some aspirants who pretend to be with the APC are not with the party.

Speaking also, Sir Jude Ejiogu advised leaders of the party to ensure they are in line with the tenets and principles of the party, which he maintained remain supreme.

The meeting which also highlighted the way forward towards the actualization of Sen. Hope Uzodinma’s gubernatorial ambition, also stressed on the need for other candidates to show seriousness through pasting their posters at strategic locations in the state.

Those present at the meeting include, APC BOT member, Mr. Jasper Azuatalam, Prof. Placid Njoku, Sir Jude Ejiogu, Barr. Chima Anozie Homebase, Barr. Kingsely Onunuju, Hon. Obinna Nshirim, Chief Chris Nwike, Hon. Charles Egwim, Chief Alan B Onyemaechi, and House of Reps, House of Assembly candidates of the party amongst other personalities.

Similarly, some candidates of APC for the Imo State House of Assembly who were part of the Okorocha Agburu political family are gradually pulling out and remaining in AA to pursue their electoral contest.

Trumpeta learnt that the Member Representing Orsu in the State Assembly, Hon Uche Agabige has dumped Okorocha team for Uzodinma. Agabige who remained Nwosu advocate it was observed has changed his campaign posters and vehicles to accommodate Uzodinma. The Orsu lawmaker it was also gathered is no longer campaigning for Nwosu but Uzodinma.

The APC candidates for Ikeduru and Ezinihitte state constituencies, Messrs Ifeanyi Opara and Ifeanyi Nwachukwu are also changing from Nwosu for Governor to Uzodinma for Governor as they were spotted at the Owerri Zone APC meeting where a resolution was passed to support the APC candidates. While Opara of the Ifeco Communication fame and owner of the Titanic Hotel in Owerri is said to be tied to Chalvon after dumping the Okorocha group since they are of the AA, Nwachukwu, the governor’s former commissioner and strong ally has Uzodinma in mind than Nwosu.
