Owerri—The Imo State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Hope Uzodimna, yesterday called on the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Dazuki Galadanchi to investigate the destruction of his campaign billboard by persons suspected to be supporters of Governor Rochas Okorocha. Okorocha and Uzodinma According to a statement to newsmen in Owerri by stakeholders of Imo APC, and signed by Emmanuel Nwagwu, they wanted the world to hear them concerning the continued destruction of their campaign signposts in and outside the state capital. They also called on the police in the state to unravel the killers of the two young men said to have been shot dead during Okorocha’s senatorial campaign rally at Ejemekwuru in Oguta local government area. Election: 7,000 police personnel to provide security in Edo According to Nwagwu’s statement, “We have observed that agents of the Imo State Government have embarked on the destruction of our campaign bill boards around Orlu axis and Owerri. They are replacing these bill boards with that of Uche Nwosu, Okorocha’s in-law and candidate of AA. “We are raising this alarm so the world and the Imo State Police Commissioner will hear. We don’t want to take laws into our hands and we expect others to take note so as to avoid actions that willl plunge the state into crisis this election period. “Our members have been subjected to all sorts of intimidation and true to the governor’s boast that he is incharge of the police, no body wants to stop this impunity. “But let me remind the governor that this state belongs to all of us. He must not allow his unrelenting resolve to rig in his son in-law as governor to destroy this state.”
