President Muhammadu Buhari is meeting behind closed doors with the outgoing Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Governor Okorocha arrived at the State House about 1pm and proceeded straight to the President’s office.
The Imo State Governor who contested the National Assembly election on February 23 to represent Imo West Senatorial District (Orlu zone) was declared winner of the election but the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Returning Officer who declared him winner, later said that he did that under duress.
The development made the INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu to withhold his Certificate of Return.
The outgoing Imo State Governor has been having problem with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for his alleged anti-party activities during the governorship election.
He was accused to have worked for the Action Alliance, AA, candidate, Uche Nwosu, his Son-in-law who lost to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, against his party, the APC.
