Following the spate of mudsling and character assassination currently going on between two former Imo State governors, Chief Achike Udenwa and Chief Ikedi Ohakim, concerned Imo people have called on the governor-elect, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and some prominent indigenes of the state to intervene in the crisis before it gets out of hand, describing the whole scenario as messy.

Apart from the governor-elect, they equally mentioned Chief Tony Chukwu, Prof. Maurice Iwu, Archbishop Anthony Obinna, Chief Leo Stan Ekeh, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Chief I.D Nwoga, etc, as those capable of resolving whatever that have gone wrong between these two elder statesmen.

The concerned citizens who bared their mind to the Daily Nigerian Horn, said what is going on between the two is not good for the image of the state as former Chief executives.

“Chief Ihedioha, the incoming governor must intervene to settle these two gentlemen. Both of them are his friends and if he allows this confrontation to continue, it may affect his administration. Also, the likes of Chief Tony Chukwu, Prof. Maurice iwu, Archbishop Obinna, Chief Leo Stan Ekeh, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Chief I.D Nwoga and other prominent Imo people should intervene to call these two brothers to order before the whole Imo is engulfed”, they pleaded.

It could be recalled that both Udenwa and Ohakim have engaged each other for the past weeks discrediting each other’s government.

Their confrontation have raised serious argument among Imolites as both have substantial supporters.
