Former Imo State governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha has described as belated and an afterthought the denial that he bequeathed N48.5billion to his successor, Emeka Ihedioha.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Sam Onwuemeodo, the former governor wondered why it took government about five months to deny he left behind the sum of money.
He said he had sustained his claim of leaving the money for his successor and even mentioned the banks where the money is lodged without any official refuting it till now.
The senator representing Imo West District at the National Assembly, noted that even the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Emeka Ebilikwe, who was inaugurated in June also kept mute.
He described as an after-thought Ebilikwe’s denial about five months later, adding that it was the money that gave the government the leverage to talk of garnishee orders and opening discussions with contractors.
