The speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Collins Chiji, has said the legislature was committed to helping Governor Emeka Ihedioha rebuild the state.
The speaker, who spoke in Owerri, said the state lawmakers had assisted the governor to start well.
Chiji, said before the lawmakers went on annual recess, they had through the course of their legislations, partnered the governor towards achieving a new Imo.
The speaker said the six bills and several motions helping the governor to address the rots in education, civil service, local government administration and awards of contracts.
He said, “For emphasis, this crop of lawmakers are committed to helping the governor to succeed .We have made sure that the governor started well . We have passed six bills which have tried to correct the rots in education, agriculture, civil service and the local government administration.”
Chiji urged the people of the state to be patient with the governor, saying the rots he met on assumption of office was huge.
