The High Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Singapore, His Excellency, Akinremi Alade Bolaji has said that Nigeria and Singapore can be the connection points for Africa and Asia in the area of trade and investment.
Ambassador Akinremi made the comment when he hosted a delegation of Nigeria and international business and Investment community in an event marking the ‘Nigeria @ 59 National Day Celebration 2019 Singapore’ and part of the the Nigeria Asia Business Forum, a Nigeria – Asia Joint Trade Mission and Business Delegation of Industries Investments and Commerce to Asia 2019/2020.
The event which held from Wednesday 2nd to Sunday 6th of October 2019, was designed to strengthen business relationships between Nigeria, Singapore and other Asian countries.
Ambassador Akinremi Alade Bolaji said it is time for Nigerians and Nigerian investors to take their place in the world business cycle, while stating that as the fastest growing economy in Africa, Nigeria is the destination for foreign investors heading to Africa.
“We’re the next window of opportunity, the entire world should explore”, Ambassador Akinremi said, adding that the Federal Government is doing everything possible to make the country very investment compliant for both local and international businesses.
“Nigeria is the place you should be whenever you think of expanding to Africa, we’re always open to accept you and we are ever ready to work with you. Nigeria and Singapore have previously shared economic, developmental and investment ideas. We have been training partners in various sectors and our trade value keeps increasing every year.”
“While we can leverage on our various trade and developmental agreements, Nigeria and Singapore can also be connection points for Africa and Asia; this is what we want to achieve with this event” he said.
Ambassador Akinremi Alade Bolaji hailed the participants at the Nigeria – Asia Joint Trade Mission, for their willingness to explore international opportunities, especially as it concerns Nigeria and Singapore, adding that their continual business corporation will create endless opportunities for both countries.
“I want to specially thank the people of Singapore for their reception and support in making this event a memorable one. I am pledging we will corporate to forge a lasting relationship especially in the area of business and investment”
The event which is packaged by Nigeria High Commission Singapore alongside Trade Nigeria, is in collaboration with Transnational Trade and Commerce Centre and Center for International Trade Promotions, Investment Economic, Research and Development.
In attendance are Hon. Nwabueze Buchi George, the Executive Director of Trade Nigeria; Staff of the Office of The Secretary to the Government of the Federation who represented Nigerian Presidency alongside other delegates representing Nigerian and International investments.
