Former Governor of Imo State, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, has been tipped as the right person to clinch the exalted position of President of Ohaneze Ndigbo.

It was gathered that the position has been zoned to Imo State.

Ohakim who was described as a vocal and courageous Igbo leader, hails from Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.

Apart from Ohakim, Chief Chris Asoluka, Prof. T.U. Nwala, Prof Ukachukwu Awuzie and Ambassador George Obiozor were also tipped for the position.

Asoluka, one-time commissioner for Finance in Imo State, a native of Ihiagwa in Owerri West Local Government of Imo State, has been described as one of the major players in Ohaneze Ndigbo.

Prof. T.U. Nwala, said to be the first ever professor of African philosophy while Prof Ukachukwu Awuzie, former IMSU VC and ASUU president, are also in the list of those tipped for the plum position.

Ambassador George Obiozor from Orlu East Local Government and former diplomat is one of the top Imo personalities lured to join the race for Ohaneze Ndigbo Presidency.

Daily Nigerian Horn however gathered that the mentioned Imo leaders may have not indicated their interest to vie for o9the position.
