The governorship candidate of the Action Alliance in Imo State, Chief Uche Nwosu has expressed confidence that the Court of Appeal shall upturn the judgement of the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, which dismissed his petition for the inability of his witnesses to prove their case.
Nwosu who spoke through his Director Media and Publicity, Mr. Onwuasoanya FCC Jones, said that the judgement of the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal was in error, and hopes that the court of Appeal would upturn the judgement.
Speaking to our correspondent on telephone, Onwuasoanya also dispelled the rumor that his principal has stepped down for any of the governorship candidates. According to him;
“I can confirm that there is a subsisting alliance between all the progressives in the State. This alliance is principally meant to ensure that Imo is not ran aground by the PDP. At this point, all the progressives are focused on checkmating the present administration from destroying the State, irreparably. The other part of the agreement shall unfold after the Supreme Court has given its verdict.”
“I can assure you that His Excellency Ugwumba Uche Nwosu is still very much in the reckoning to become the governor of Imo State and we urge all our supporters and Imolites in general to keep the faith, because the incursion of the rampaging locusts shall be repelled.”
Nwosu, who placed a close second in the March 9th Governorship Election is praying the court to nullify the election that produced Chief Emeka Ihedioha as the governor of Imo State and declare him winner. In the alternative, he contends that since the former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives failed to meet the Constitutional requirement to be declared, a run-off should be declared between him and the PDP candidate.
