In a bid to ascertain level of work on the ongoing construction of roads in Imo State, the Commissioner for Information Commissioner, Barr Emeka Ebiliekwe has undertaken an unscheduled tour of the roads.
Speaking to project/site engineers during the tour, Wednesday, Hon. Ebiliekwe, charged them on the need to strictly adhere to the agreed specifications, standard and completion date.
He also urged them to maintain a very good relationship with their host communities.
The commissioner further advised them on the importance of creating and providing palliative measures on all useful alternative routes to ease traffic congestion considering the expected high inflow of vehicles in and out of the state during the Yuletide.
Ebiliekwe was accompanied to the tour by the Director General of Imo State Orientation Agency, Chief Martin Opara.
Some of the roads they inspected include, Nekede-Ihiagwa-Obinze road, the Akachi-Aba road bypass and the Amakohia-Onitsha link road.
Also, Hon Ebiliekwe and his counterpart, advised Ndi-Imo and road users to take advantage of the people-orientated leadership of the digital governor, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and support the rebuilding process, by driving carefully, obeying traffic laws and officers.
They used the opportunity to send the government Christmas goodwill massage to the people of Imo State, assuring them of more dividends of democracy in the coming years.
Consequently, road users and motorists who spoke to the media crew of the Commissioner expressed gratitude and overwhelming happiness to the Gov Emeka Ihedioha led Rebuild Imo Government for keeping to his promises.
They warned detractors to stop distracting the rebuild project, as they reaffirmed their total support and allegiance to Ihedioha led administration.
