Imo State Governor , Hope Uzodinma, on Friday renamed the Imo College of Education, Isinweke, after the late Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu.

Uzodinma, who spoke during Uwajumogu’s burial in Isinweke in the Ihitte/ Uboma Local Government Area of the state, said Nigeria had lost a patriotic citizen.

The governor said he had informed the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Collins Chiji, to begin the process of putting legislative backing to the renaming of the college after the departed lawmaker.

Uwajumogu, a former Speaker of the House of Assembly, was until his death on December 18, 2019 the representative of Imo North in the Senate.

Uzodinma said the country would miss Uwajumogu.

He said the deceased attracted development to his people and would have done more if death had spared him.
