Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has commended two state governors for disclosing their test results for Coronavirus.
Atiku, who recently announced his son has tested positive to the virus, hailed Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state and Governor Nasir El-rufai of Kaduna state for disclosing their positive status to Nigerians.
Both governors tested positive days ago and made their status public.
The former Vice President also commended immigration boss, Babandede who confirmed he tested positive to COVID-19 on Sunday.
Atiku added that Nigeria can beat Coronavirus by being open about it and testing more individuals.
According to him, a positive status to Coronavirus is not a death sentence.
On his Twitter page, Atiku wrote: “I wish to recommend the examples of Governors Bala Mohammed, Nasir El-rufai and CG of Immigration, Babandede MFR for their disclosure.
“We can beat this pandemic by being open about it, educating our people, isolation and testing. It is not a death sentence, we will all be fine.
“Be safe; wash your hands, keep social distance and avoid large gatherings.”
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari after criticisms addressed the nation for the first time on Sunday night at 7pm since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Nigeria.
In his broadcast, the President ordered a total lockdown of Lagos, Abuja, and Ogun states as measures to curb the spread of Coronavirus.
