Prominent Nigerian actress Funke Akindele has been found guilty of “violating [coronavirus] restriction orders” in the commercial capital, Lagos, a police statement says.
She was charged alongside her husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello, who was also found guilty.
They were accused of holding a party in their home.
Akindele and her husband will now have to each pay a N10, 000 fine and do 14 days of community service.
They have been told to “visit 10 important public places within Lagos State to educate the public on the consequences of non compliance with the restriction order”.
They also have to submit the names and contacts of all the guests at the party and the police say they have launch a manhunt for them.
One of those who was at the party, singer Naira Marley, is already in police custody, the police said.
