The Operation Search and Flush Team of the Imo State Government has impounded more than 100 vehicles whose owners allegedly violated the lockdown imposed by the government.
Leader of the taskforce, DSP Modebe Peter conducted newsmen round the seized vehicles.
He said; “As you can see from the number of vehicles impounded, the lockdown order in Imo State is being enforced in its totality”.
He made it clear that the lockdown order was to protect citizens of the state, reason the governor blocked all entry and exit points to the state, as well as the internal roads within the metropolis, to make sure the virus is contained.
He disclosed that the vehicles that were impounded were those belonging to people who blatantly flouted the governor’s directive by moving around within the metropolis.
