The Imo State Government, has constituted a committee on Ministry of Commerce and Industry Land Recovery at Naze, Owerri North Local Government Area (LGA).
Speaking during the Inuaguration of the committee members at the Conference Hall of the Ministry on Friday, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Honourable Barr Kingsley Ononuju, said that the aim of the current administration is to restore the master plan of the State, rehabilitate, reconstruct and recover all that belong to Imo and bring her into the balance of prosperity.
His words, ” The visioner is his Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, while I am just a stepdown transformer to ensure that his policies are translated and implemented.”
According to Barr Ononuju, “The Governor means well so also all the people he called on board to help him steer the ship of good governance in the state.”
He said, ” You are called today, to help us rehabilitate, reconstruct and recover our properties at Naze Industrial Site, to ensure that those allocated shops are the ones using the place and if they are not using it, what is the case and what are the things government will do to see that the place is viable and business is going on smoothly.”
He added that based on the documents at his disposal, 6, 000 hectares of land out of 10, 000 given to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to incorporate artisans, have been misappropriated by unknown persons. He therefore tasked the Committee to find out, who are behind the wicked act, bring justice and restore the hope of Imo State.
Barr Ononuju, warned that the era when people wilfully encroach on land and properties that are not theirs, because their relaatives are in power or highly connected has gone because a new Sheriff, that wants good governance, justice and prosperity to thrive in the land is in charge.
He urged them to be diligent and thorough as the carry out their assignment.

Barr Ononuju, for his relentless efforts to reposition Imo Commmerce and Industry, adding that the Committee, will quicken the industrialization of the State.
