More political drama are in the offing in Imo State, with clear indications that some aggrieved chieftains and members of the All Progressive Congress, APC in the State, are contemplating heading to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
In what may look like a reverse of the political drama which took place last week in the State, wherein some exco members of the PDP decamped to the APC, some APC bigheads dissatisfied with ongoing political development in the party may sooner or later cross over to the PDP.
There are four active political blocs in the APC in Imo State.The Rochas Okorocha group, the Ifeanyi Araraume line up, which just returned to the APC from APGA, the Coalition and the CAMP HOPE group loyal to Governor Hope Uzodinma.
The defectors from the PDP to the APC last week are to be subsumed into the Uzodinma group, which is the only group enjoying all the goodies and perks from government since Uzodinma became Governor.
It is an open secret that the Okorocha and Araraume camps, are displeased with the turn of events, having been kept in abeyance by Governor Uzodinma, as none of their followers were considered for appointments by the Governor.
There has been several media reports that there is ongoing love lost between Uzodinma, Okorocha and Araraume after the Governor allegedly reneged on an “agreement” after the Supreme Court removed Emeka Ihedioha as Governor
A source in one of the aggrieved camps said though they are bidding their time watching more political events unfold in the country, the option of leaving the APC for the PDP, is very much on the cards, because there is no hope that things may change for better in the APC in Imo State.
The source said “The hand writing is on the wall. The Governor wants to take full and absolute control of the APC in the State.
“Some of those in the PDP who joined the APC last week worked with Uzodinma during the Sherrif/Makarfi tussle for the soul of the PDP years ago.
“The Governor’s camp in the APC is fortifying their stronghold in the party in the State to take full charge of the APC ahead of the 2023 elections.
“The signals are there and it is only a blind politician who will sit back and watch been sent into political oblivion.
“We may tarry for a while and may be after Congresses in both parties, our next line of action will become clear
