The Imo State Taskforce on Prevention and Control of Coronavirus, has said the taskforce will on Sunday monitor full compliance to preventive guidelines on covid 19.
The Federal Government had on Monday lifted the ban on religious gatherings in the country.
Chairman of the Taskforce, Prof Maurice Iwu, said already members are complying to the preventive measures such as washing of hands before entering the church, use of face masks and maintaining social distancing in sitting order.
According to a statement by Chief Press Secretary to Governor Uzodinma, Oguwuike Nwachuku, Iwu encouraged the people of Imo State not to hesitate to make themselves available for testing to ascertain their status regarding covid 19.
He said the Commitee is targeting to test 100 persons on a daily basis in the state as part of efforts to prevent the spread of the virus. According to him, Imo State has 42 covid 19 cases, saying of this number, 25 are not from Imo State.
He added that seven of the cases are active, three are from from a particular family of four where a three year old tested positive and has been sent to the Isolation centre.
