As part of efforts to reposition the All Progressive Congress, APC, States with factions may go for fresh Congresses.

A source who is close to the newly constituted Caretaker Committee, said the dissolution of factions, is the only way genuine peace and reconciliation, could return to the party in the States.

The APC in some states are factionalised and this has been identified as a major factor impeding the success of the party in those states.

The dissolved National Working Committee, NWC, led by Comrade Adams Oshiomole, was alleged to have favoured most State Governors desire to take total control of the party in the States, ignoring the interests of other key stakeholders and party leaders including former Governors, Senators, Ministers, etc.

The source said “Though the State Governors maintain grip of the party in the States, some other key stakeholders are being left out and this is one of the major reason why the party had many factions in the States.

In Imo APC, a caretaker Committee headed by Marcellinus Nlemigbo (Marcon), is strongly aligned to Governor Hope Uzodinma while another faction led by Daniel Nwafor led former Governor Rochas Okorocha.
