The Ag. DG of Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC), Barr. Ezekiel Opara, has described the insinuations from some sections of the media, acredited to the suspended IBC staff, Vivian Ottih, that the Governor has ordered the sack of the gate man who open gate for Mrs. Ottih as fallacious.
Barr. Ezekiel who spoke to our reporter on telephone informed that the alleged sacked gate man, Mr. Akujobi James, is currently at his duty post at the IBC premises.
The outspoken lawyer advised that people should always verify information before going to the public. According to the DG, “facts are sacred”.
“As I speak to you now, the gate man in question is at his duty post”, Barr. Opara said.
“You can come over and see him or investigate the matter”, he added.
According to the DG, no staff of IBC has been sacked since Gov. Uzodinma was sworn in, even in the past two years.
The Owerri North born IBC DG strongly stated that there was neither a query nor sack issued to anyone in IBC, Mr. Akujobi inclusive.
He regretted the false accusation leveled against the Hon. Commissioner for Information, Hon. Declan Emelumba as inhuman. According to Barr. Opara, Hon. Emelumba is not even aware that Mrs. Ottih visited IBC, not to talk of issuing a sack order to anyone.
Recall that Barr. Vivian Ottih, a staff of IBC was suspended for violating civil service rules by going to the media to demand for three months salary arrears owed IBC staff. Since then, the nursing mother has always used her Facebook social media handle to express her displeasure on the Ag. IBC DG as well as the current administration of Gov. Hope Uzodinma
