Imo State chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Barr. Marcellinus Nlemigbo (Marcon) has warned factional chairman of the party, Daniel Nwafor and other members of the party who according to him have gone astray, to desist from causing confusion, instigating and intolerance in the party he said if Nwafor and others co-travelers did not toe the line of peace, they should be ready to face the consequences.
Nlemigbo who likened the activities of Nwafor to that of Imo State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, New Media Director General ,Ambrose Nwaogwugwu, said the recalcitrant posture of Nwafor may land him in trouble, stressing that it is unbelievable that those who left APC, fought its national officers including the President and committed anti-party offences well, now claim to be Executive of the party even when they have not formally rejoined the party as members..
Meanwhile the leadership of APC in the State has hailed the recent judgment of an FCT Abuja Federal High Court recognizing the Nlemigbo led caretaker committee as the duly constituted officials of the party.
In a press release signed by the Director General Imo APC media centre, Cajetan Duke Akuta, the party commended the judiciary for being the last hope of the common man describing the Judgment as a true reflection of the wishes of majority of APC members both at the State and Federal level.
It described Nlemigbo as a thorough breed administrator who has the leadership capacity to rebrand and reposition the party in the State and urged members to support him .
The party equally extolled governor Hope Uzodimma for his leadership qualities and concentration on governance despite obvious distraction, saying that the governor has exhibited high administrative acumen to take the State to greater heights
Among those who attended the press briefing includes, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. C.O.C Akaolisa, Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Physical Planning, Barr. Enyinna Onuegbu, Commissioner for Commerce and industry, Barr. Kingsley Ononuju, Orlu Zonal chairman APC, High Chief Canice Moore Nwachukwu (Omeogo na Orlu), State woman leader, Mrs Josephine Nnoham, amongst others.
